1. IC vs. OOC- You must keep what your character knows separate from what you know. Characters can only know what they have personally experienced.
2. Player Control- You may never move, harm or kill another character without getting permission from that player first. To prevent being warned, we ask that you put an OOC note in your roleplay if you've been given permission to move the character you are moving.
3. PG-13 Rating - Freak Show is a PG-13 rated forum so mature content is not appropriate. No graphic sexual or violent roleplay. Fade to black. If the content of your thread might be offensive to others, warn readers by marking the subject line of your thread.
4. One-Liners- Add in your thoughts, put a bit of description of your surroundings or yourself... paint a picture. Give the others in your thread something to work with... something to react to. One-line posts are not allowed in roleplay. Make an effort.
5. Turn Based- Freak Show is a turn-based rp, rather like a board game. In roleplay you may not skip turns, or post out of place. Skipping a character's turn and then roleplaying for two pages without them is considered thread-jacking. Thread-jacking is rude and will not be tolerated.
6. Player Inactivity- After FIVE DAYS of inactivity in a thread, if the remaining active people in the thread would like to continue the thread without the inactive person, you may do so. But you must wait the five days to skip over the person. Once a person has been skipped over, you do not have to wait for them to post again, but can continue on taking turns with the rest of the group members.
7. Instant Relationships- At Freak Show, we do not want instant relationships to be formed, unless this is part of your history. You can be a friend instantly, but we don't want you falling in love in two pages or less. Best friends; maybe.
8. Avatar Usage- Here at Freak Show, we require an avatar. The size cannot exceed 150w X 150h. If you can't make one yourself, then ask an admin for help and we'll see what we can do. Likewise, you may have a graphic in your signature, but it must be under 500w X 250h.
9. Character Models- To begin roleplaying, and to be accepted, you must choose someone to be your character model. You may not use the same model as someone else unless your characters are twins (this requires admin approval). Please use an age appropriate character model. No, Harrison Ford can not portray your 16-year-old.
10. God Moding- You're not the all time supreme ruler of the universe who can't be destroyed, so don't act like it. So yes, no god moding.
11. Character Acceptance- To begin role playing, you must wait for an admin to accept your application, and then it will be moved to the Accepted Characters section and then you may begin.
12. Pregnancies - We understand that some characters may choose to have relations. While this is understandable, your character may not get pregnant unless it has been approved by admin. Asking does not guarantee acceptance of the idea, you must have a reason, a way that this pregnancy will help with the plot.
13. Approval - Do NOT rp until your bio submission has been approved. You may post in the OOC sections, but not in active rp. If you want to submit a bio you should enter tunnelof<3.
14. Sub-Forum Rules - Some forums may have their own rules. Pay attention to sticky posts.
15. Non-site Canons - Characters originated from books, television, movies, etc are not allowed on our site, nor are characters severely based on these. No Dean Winchesters, no Buffy Summers, no Supermans, etc.
16. C-Box - The C-Box is for out of character chatting only. It is not for role-playing at this time.
17. Non-human Species - There are no non-human species on our forum. No demons, no angels, no vampires, no werewolves, etc. There are only humans and gifted/super-humans.
